Chief Executive Ulrich Voigt says the war
in Ukraine implies an urgent need to help:

“Day after day, we are seeing death, suffering and destruction in Ukraine. Hundreds of thousands of people have already fled their country. The cities of Cologne and Bonn are also taking in refugees. As a savings bank, we believe we have a responsibility to offer support wherever we can.”

Our branches in Cologne and Bonn are opening a current account quickly and simply for people fleeing Ukraine. The account will be free for one year and has access to all banking services.  

Please note:
you require a proof of identity e.g. valid passport, arrival registration, Ukrainian ID card (model 2015), exceptional leave to remain. An account cannot be opened without one of these documents. You do not have to registered as a resident.

 

Please note:

It is not currently possible to guarantee that payments to and from Ukraine can be settled without disruptions. Payments may be delayed, refused, deferred or blocked completely.
